My personal techniques. Aka the things that keep me happy.

  • RECYCICLING. Just the other day, whilst cleaning my room, I found a ton of paperworks that I hoarded over the last two semesters… I sorted out the ones that I could still use in the future and ones that are just junk and of no purpose anymore. I ended up with a buttload of unnecessary paperjunks. Since my city doesn’t collect recyclables, I decided to bring the papers with me and recycled them at my school. I must say shoving them inside the recycle bin made me feel so much better. I helped the planet in own little way.
  • SURROUND YOURSELF WITH PEOPLE WHO ARE GENUINELY HAPPY FOR  YOU. Enough said.
  • USE THE STAIRS INSTEAD OF THE ELEVATOR. I know, it’s not the most practical way, you’re gonna sweat like a pig inside your fancy outfit and whatnot, but just think that you’re no different than Mariah Carey! Working out while rocking an a+ ensemble! (Read: remember her MTV cribs episode? Yea).
  • GOOD MUSIC IS A MUST. It doesn’t matter what genre it is, whether you understand the shit or not, if it makes you feel good, if it makes you feel like moving and crap, PUT IT ON BLAST AND LISTEN TO IT. Your cochlear nerves may not like it, (well, you still gotta keep that in mind, tho) but yea, BLAST IT.
  • TAKE PICTURES! I have to say this, but one of the reasons as to why I’m always gosh darn happy is because of my instagram and the photo editing apps that I use to “beautify” the pictures I take with my iPhone. Odd as it seems, I kinda find it therapeutic.
  • BE WARM TO OTHERS.
  • NEVER BE TOO SHY TO GIVE GENUINE COMPLIMENTS. If you find your colleague’s outfit pretty, go on and say it. I think it feels way better than receiving one.
  • UNDERSTAND YOUR NEEDS. Remember that you deserve nice things too. You need a booster, whether it be buying a new phone case, a new scarf, a new set of colored pens… or something bigger it doesn’t matter. Think of ways to make yourself feel special.
  • STARBUCKS. Okay, this might not work for everyone else, because some are just not too enticed with sbucks as much as I am right now, but yea. Starbucks does make me happy. It’s just not the same when I’m not drinking Starbucks.
  • NAP! when you get a chance. Never deny yourself that pleasure.
  • GET OUT OF YOUR SHELL AND MEET NEW PEOPLE. GIVE THEM A CHANCE. HELL, GIVE YOURSELF A CHANCE TO BE POTENTIALLY HAPPY. You just never know.
