The Fault in Our Stars

January 29, 2013

I just finished the book last night after only two days of reading it. Mind you, I was also reading my Abnormal Psych book so, you can call that adultery.

Anyways, it was a good book because I felt like I could totally relate to it seeing that two of my loved ones did die of cancer. My grandma and daddy [whose birthday is today]. Anyways, I really did enjoy the book. So much that I carried it with me at school and read it whenever I deemed it necessary [aka while waiting for my professors]. The last few chapters were very sad that I cried buckets of tears. Thank God everyone were in bed by 1am so no one bore witness.

Here’s on of the many favorite quotes of mine in the book.

Without pain, how could we know joy?’ This is an old argument in the field of thinking about suffering and its stupidity and lack of sophistication could be plumbed for centuries but suffice it to say that the existence of broccoli does not, in any way, affect the taste of chocolate.
